Cévennes:
Rebel beauty!

Lying in the south of the Lozère, between Aigoual and Mont Lozère, the Cévennes are a strong contrast between harsh mountains and a mild Mediterranean climate.

This harsh land, with its tough history and character, was the fief of the

protestant Huguenots and the scene of the Camisard uprising at the beginning of the 18th century.

From Florac to Saint Germain de Calberte, the winding roads of the Cévennes offer numerous picturesque circuits with unbeatable views and access to stunning sites. It is an ideal place to get away from it all, whether you prefer nature or culture.

To the west, the Mont Lozère forms a majestic granite barrier, sharply contrasting with its "bald" peaks and gentle terrain. The "mountain of springs", which culminates at an altitude of 1700 m, is ideal for magnificent walks on the numerous footpaths.

In winter the Mont Lozère becomes a snowy wonderland. Indulge in a little cross-country skiing at Bleymard-Mont-Lozère or the Mas de la Barque then warm up in the spa resort of Bagnols les Bains.
